haha, I love blueberries and strawberries, but nothing flavored like them! I can so relate to how you feel about oranges!

Bah! I''m so flattered ladies (thanks so much starting this elle!)...my heart''s beating so fast right now! I think I''m nervous because my life is terribly boring!
I have to admit that I don''t really post in WW and I pop in every now and then...right now my time is devoted to the LIWs and The New Bachelor thread. haha.
Ok, some random facts about me, then I''ll fill in the gaps as we go along:
-middle child of 3 children - Amanda, Samantha and Angela
-I LOVE orange but I don''t like the flavour (except for the actual fruit) and I only have 2 orange shirts in my closet
-I''ve never typed or texted ''LOL''...until now! I can''t bring myself to do it and that''s why I always type ''haha''
-I really do love ellipses....![]()
-I take poledancing lessons. My favourite move on the pole is the backspin (I tried to find a youtube video and the only one I could find was of a lady in underwear and pleather boots)![]()
-My parents are the cutest couple on earth. They definitely rekindled their love once us kids moved out of the house. They hold hands everywhere and ALL of my friends notice and they love it too!
-I got the name sammyj from a friend who had a bluejay in his backyard that his mom called ''Sammyj.'' People also call my ''SJ.''
-I didn''t start exercising until I was 19, and the only reason I started exercising was to join the Canadian Army Reserve. I failed the physical testing twice (darn pushups...passed on the 3rd try) and it was my part-time job (full-time in the summers) as a Medic for 3 years.
-I told my BF ''I love you'' first in a card that I gave him as he was leaving on a month-long trip to Kenya. I didn''t hear from him for a week as he was in transit...yes, I went crazy for a bit!
-My goal in life is to have six-pack abs.
-I could sit on the TV and watch an entire Spelling Bee competition. I also own the movie Scrabble Wars. I love spelling but I still have to look up some words (e.g. embarrassing)
-I gave up chocolate on Christmas Day 2003. I voluntarily ate mint chocolate a couple of weeks ago but I jumped back on the wagon.
-Last Friday I went to cash a lottery ticket. The cashier asked for my ID and miscalculated my age. She actually thought I was turning 17 and not 27. Story of my life! You can only imagine the looks I get when I walk into a high school for work!![]()
Ok...gotta go pee now.![]()

Oh elle, you crack me up! Congrats on your spelling bee accomplishments! I never participated in a spelling bee myself but I still remember one day in grade 5 when we were doing something spelling bee-ish and I panicked and forgot how to spell ''hadn''t.'' I didn''t recognize the word so I think I stuck in an ''e.''style="WIDTH: 99%; HEIGHT: 304px">Date: 2/11/2009 8:51:10 AM

I love spelling bees!! I was in them my entire life. I won my school spelling bee in 5th and 6th grade, and went to regionals in 6th grade and got like 9th place out of 50. ISpelling Bees!![]()
That''s hilarious about getting carded for lottery. I got carded for COMPRESSED AIR at Staples a few months ago. Seriously? What the hell are kids doing with compressed air that I have to get carded? I will be 27 this year.![]()

So... what else can we pry out of you?![]()
What''s the craziest thing you''ve ever done? (risky, adventurous, embarassing?)
What''s your style as far as clothing goes?
What kind of music do you like?
Do you have any talents?
What''s your favorite movie? (You can only pick one!)
I know...I'm such a poser...Date: 2/11/2009 12:47:44 PM

We met playing on the same intramural baseball team! I was starting grad school and he was finishing his last year of undergrad. We had a lot of mutual friends as we were actually in the same residence in first year (in 2000) but we never met until 2004. He told me that he had asked the coach to switch positions so we could play next to eachother. Soon enough, the coach took me out of the outfield (because I''m the worst baseball player ever!) and put me in bat catch where I could talk up the umpire.Date: 2/11/2009 12:46:44 PM

How did you meet your SO???
LOL, SO and I ran in college a few times while I was training for the LA marathon. It went pretty well, but I was in better shape then. I''m pitiful now, and he could run circles around me! I need to get my butt MOVING! Have you done a triathalon? I want to do one of those. What else do you do to stay in shape?Date: 2/11/2009 1:48:41 PM

How did you meet your SO???Anyway, one night our team went out for drinks and my BF sat next to me and we started talking about training for a well-known 30k race. We decided to run the relay together (2x15k) and we made a date to go running a few days later. We ran 5k together, I kicked his butt, and the rest is history! We did end up running the relay a few months later and that was the only time we ever did a race together.![]()
The funny thing is, now, we always get into a fight when we run! We have very different running styles and while he''d rather sightsee on a run, I''d rather get in a good workout! Maybe for our 10-year anniversary we can run the relay again...
I''m so impressed that you ran a marathon! I have no desire to run for that long...I tend to get very bored past the 23-24k mark (14 miles-ish?) and I just don''t feel like running after that point! I was told that you once you have children, your desire to run a marathon increases. You know, to get away from the kids of course!Date: 2/11/2009 2:19:21 PM

I''ve never done a triathlong but I''ve always wanted to try one...a Try-a-Tri or a Sprint Triathlon. The problem is that I *suck* at swimming (I get water up my nose) and I can''t bike for very long...so that just leaves the running. I did brick training once about 6 years ago. I biked about 5k then I ran for 2k and it just about killed me.
Right now to stay in shape I''m really trying to mix it up because I get bored so easily. I used to be a gym junkie and then I moved to where I am now and I wasn''t impressed with any of the gyms. I was heavy into hot yoga for a couple of years but that was replaced with running. So, right now my weeks consist of:
Monday - indoor rock climbing / bouldering
Wednesday - poledancing
Thursday - running clinic (usually hills or speed work)
Saturday - CrossFit
Sunday - long run
Starting next week I will be poledancing on Tuesdays and doing a 2nd Crossfit workout on Wednesday. I''m going to get my BF to take weekly pics of me so I can track my progress towards a 6-pack. I''ve also decided to post my Crossfit workouts in case anyone is interested in this cultish phenomena!!!
On Tuesday we did:
6 push presses (I did 45lbs) and 6 pull-ups every minute for 20 minutes.

Thanks! I just read a bit about how people overdo it and get serious injuries. I''m a small girl and the owners at the gym I go to are really great. I''m sticking to smaller weights and crying for help (literally....thank goodness for my BF) until I get stronger! I think the people that get injured are typically people who think they''re in great shape and push themselves to prove how fit they are....that''s just my opinion though! Maybe I''ll post my before/after pics...if the after pics actually look any different!Date: 2/12/2009 2:00:42 PM

Ok...POLEDANCING!! It is ridiculously fun...and that''s why I do it. Not because I want to be sexier or I think it will help me get fit, it''s just SO MUCH FUN! I take my classes at Aradia Fitness. The first time I tried it was a few years ago when I was working at lululemon and we were looking into affiliations. I did the teaser class with 7 other girls and we had a blast. My hands can get clammy so I had a hard time swinging on the pole, and I still have this problem now.
So, I''m in my 3rd session of poledancing. It goes up to Level 12, I think. In level 3 you are supposed to start doing the classes in heels. I forgot about this so when I went to my class last night I didn''t have my heels, but this girl, who I did Level 1 with and she drove me bonkers, came with these 5'' platform heels with glittery lucite. She then went on to tell us that she bought them specifically for the glitter and that she bought TWO pairs. Not to be judgmental or rude, but REALLY? You paid real money for those?!?!!? Anway, level 3 was awesome. We learned some new pole holds and moves and I can definitely feel the effects of Crossfit on my strength to hold myself on the pole. I''d also LOVE to have a pole in my home but they''re really expensive and we have no space. My BF and his friends would also probably be ridiculously annoying with it!
Ok...I still haven''t taken my Before pics which I hope to do soon. Here are the last 2 CF workouts I did:
Saturday in the hotel room in Ottawa:
Blackjack - 20 pushups / 1 situp, 19 pushups / 2 situps, 18 pushups / 3 situps.....2 pushups / 19 situps, 1 pushup / 20 situps
followed with a leg blaster - 20 squats, 20 single-leg lunges, 20 jumping lunges, 20 jumping squats, 20 mountain climbers
Monday at CF:
20 turkish getups
7 rounds of:
7 right-arm DB thrusters
7 left-arm DB thrusters
15 pushups
800m sprint
**As an indication of how NOT STRONG I am, the recommended weight for women for the turkish getups and thrusters is 20lbs...I do 10lbs.![]()
Should I post my before pics??? Will that make me more accountable!?!??
