Well I hope she says NO WAY, JOSE. Really? Really? He proposes to her on her death bed? After HOW MANY years together?

Guess someone told him he wasn''t getting her STUFF since they aren''t married. What a TOOL.

y''know, decodelighted, i saw this thread and went ''awwwww....'' - meaning - how nice! they''re getting married! how lovely!

then i read your post and....it was a little like a slap in the face with a dead fish!

and now i feel quite different about the two of them getting together!!

i went from ''awwwww''....to....''yeah! what a ratbag! i say we take him out the back and beat the stuffin'' outta him!'' in the time it took to read your post!

and now i''m all...."yo sisters! stand and fight this chauvinistic domination! band together! we shall overcome! unite, sisterhood of strong, self sufficient wimmin!"

(someone had better take me outside and hose me down before i pop something)

your posts crack me up, decode!

PS ''wimmin'' was the common spelling of ''women'' by the feminist movement in the 70''s, who refused to acknowledge themselves as a subset from men. where is my underwear?? i need to go burn something....

I thought it was weird too. I can''t tell if it was intended to be romantic, but it rubbed me the wrong way.

LOL Whitby! I should have put the whammy in the title, huh?

They''ve been together for THIRTY years ... sure, he''s said he asked her to marry him before etc etc but I dunno the whole thing stinks to me. Why now? If she said no all those times, is it cool to strongarm her when she''s weak & vulnerable?

He rubbed me the WRONG way when he tried to sell a 2nd doc about Farrah''s fight for life. A *sequel* to keep on making cash. Plans were scrapped when the whole world said YUCK.

What a disgusting publicity stunt. They are so Speidi in 40 years.

I never thought Awwww, and I never thought Golddigger - I just thought, oh Gosh, leave it alone. Enough with the Farrah publicity. Just let her have some dignity and peace and privacy and family without the world watching her week to week life. Yes we will all mourn her when she has passed. We will always remember her iconic moments. I don''t see the need to drag her final months through the litters of television and print media.

And so, it is true, that all's Farr-ah in love & war...

...thereby making my 5000th post.

Thank you...thank you very much...

(edited to add)...with good thoughts, still, to Ms. Fawcett during this most difficult time in what I understand are likely to be her final days...no joking about that...

While I totally agree with your assessment of Mr. O''Neal and his timing, I hope Ms. Fawcett follows her heart -- and her lawyers'' advice!

I thought very differently when I read it. They have been together for over 30 years and she was the one who said no to marriage in the earlier years. They were together and I suppose she just didn''t care about the paper. But if they want to officially pledge their love to each other now, I think it is sweet. I think it is pretty amazing that they stayed together all these years.

Commitment ceremony is one thing ... legal marriage at this point gives Ryan total control over her assets & likeness rights etc. As opposed to, say, her son. I don''t know. I think he''s shifty & awful. There have been yicky rumors about his behavior towards her (and his daughter) for YEARS. I don''t trust him. I think he''s preying on her weakness in a vulnerable time. The whole thing skeeves me. But if it makes her happy and she''s of sound mind to make the decision than she should have what she wants.

Watch it and WEEP as he LAUGHS that they''ll wed as soon as "she can say yes ... maybe someone can just nod her head"
23.gif
and then laughs hysterically when she responded to his "proposal" with the word "PRENUP".

He is a buzzard circling his prey. When he''s not smoking meth with their son. Oy vey.

Wowzers. I read this thread earlier and didn''t have much to say, but looking at that clip, those eyes are cold. I understand laughing through pain, etc but you should be able to see some degree of sadness of the situation in the eyes. There really was none.

Well, it sounds like you know some background info that I didn''t. I usually agree with you on most things, so I''ll trust you on this one!

He is just so effin'' slimey!

Ugh! What a cafone. Yuck!

I saw this video earlier on a news page. I agree 100% that he is a slime ball

Anyone in their last days of battling cancer is in no state of mind to be making decisions like getting married. By all accounts, Farrah has been living on morphine for more than the last six or eight weeks. The poor woman hasn''t got a clue of what''s going on anymore. Anyone who has had a family member that was this deathly ill knows that. The last couple of months of the life of someone in this desparate a condition are so difficult and so very sad. I can''t imagine what the heck Ryan O. is thinking.

smallText" id=articleTxt3>Earlier on Monday, Usmagazine.com reported that O''Neal and Fawcett were set to tie the knot. Citing an upcoming ''20/20'' interview, O''Neal said that the two will "absolutely" marry when Fawcett was strong enough to say yes.
"Maybe we can just nod her head," he joked.

What a jerk!

I wasn''t sure what to think when I heard this. Is he after her stuff (does she have any stuff) or is he trying to make himself feel better since they aren''t married yet?

I don''t think there''s a lot of "stuff" to be inherited.

I do think he''s in it for the publicity and always has been

Farrah is close to comatose IMO. She couldn''t even recognize her own son in that movie they made of her, and that was weeks ago.

Whitby you crack me up!!

As for the proposal. Not impressed.

Agree with starset! I watched the show (parts of it at least) and found it disturbing. It was supposed to be a tribute and show of support for cancer patients..but all it did was scare people more than ever! Plus it seemed to me she didn't want to be filmed without her cap (put her hand to block the camera), but they kept filming.

And Ryan O"Neal--I mean sometimes I do feel for him/them, but other times I DO see him obsessed with the publicity. The hype for the show, then when everything went quiet, this wedding news. You do have to wonder about a man whose kids (all 3, and different mothers) all end up drug addicts and lost.

I agree, leave it alone already!

I completely agree with pp. I''m pretty certain Farrah doesn''t have a fortune of any type stashed away somewhere. The woman lives in an apartment for goodness sake. There''s no multi-million dollar home, no wait staff. It looks like she lives in quite a meager way to me.

Ryan is definitely in it for the publicity. He''s another has-been. And Alana Hamilton? I think she''s in it for the publicity too.

Yes, they love each other.

Yes, they are also co-dependent. Which ain''t no way to be married. Maybe now is the right time.

Have to say, I get the same cold feeling that Deco does on this one.

It just feels......I dunno.....exploitative.

Her time is quickly, quickly evaporating.....and instead of being with her, he's scheduling and doing interviews.

I am dismayed, it appeared that she was extremely weak as someone mentioned and that was weeks ago so she is probably far worse. Joking that maybe they can get her to nod her head for the vows....

Sad news.

Just reported on CNN that she passed away.
