New to the forum and about to buy my girlfriend and engagement ring. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have educated myself and searched for weeks and finally found a diamond that I think I am ready to purchase.

It is a 2.03 ct J color VS1, excellent cut, polish and symmetry. No fluorescence. It has a HCA of 0.8. I would post a picture of the certificate but do not know how.

Anyways, the plot has small twinning wisps, and the additional comments note additional twinning wisps, pinpoints and surface graining.

With this diamond being VS1, does anyone think that these inclusions could affect the otherwise great statistics of this diamond? I just do not know much about twinning wisps and how they affect light, shine, etc.

Thanks so much.

Twining wisps can affect transparency but the experts here would need to see where they are on the diamond plot. At a VS1, I think you are probably okay. Is it GIA certified? You can list the number and it can be looked up on the GIA website.

You need to ask the vendor if the twinning wisp affect the brilliance. Chances in a VS1 are slim but check to be sure.

Well, I actually found another diamond that I may like more. It has the same HCA of 0.8 but is a larger stone at 2.12 ct. Here is the link to the GIA certificate. Does anything on this certificate concern anyone? I appreciate any responses.

Looks very nice. Is it eye clean? A black carbon primary inclusion under the table in a vs2 may not be.
