I’d choose #2 due to better overall measurements.

I prefer GCAL to IGI, so I think these are good options. Do you have the certificates? They have imagery to help view light performance. Based on numbers alone, I would choose the second stone.

Unfortunately, that isn’t the full GCAL certificate. I hate that how JA is about showing them. Are you tied to James Allen? Is having an E color important? Or are you willing to go to an F or G? What is your budget?

I am definitely okay to go down to a G! And I am not completely tied to JA though their 360 view is really nice. Budget is $3200CA

I like that Brilliant Earth doesn’t keep the certificates hidden until you ask for them. These all meet standards for both GIA Ideal and AGS Excellent. They also fall into the narrow standards for super ideal cut.

This is an SI1, but it steps up to an F color. It might very well be eye clean. When I zoom out I can’t see any of the inclusions. You could ask BE for an in house review.

This is an H, so depends on how color sensitive you are. But it’s a nicely cut stone and a VVS2.

I agree! brilliant earth is a lot better in that way. they are more transparent when it comes to certificates. I think I have narrowed it down to https://www.brilliantearth.com/lab-diamonds-search/view_detail/8332665/

and

which one would you choose and why? also, the 1.10 ct is 6.66mm x 6.61mm x 4.09mm while the 1.15ct is 6.76mm x 6.73mm x 4.13mm will thefinger coverage be noticeable or not really? I have size 4 finger for reference. (The slightly bigger one is actually a bit cheaper too!)

Do you think those black specks around the diamond will be visible to naked eye? On the 1.15ct

thanks!
Definitely not, they are so tiny, you’ll never see them without the help of magnification.

+1 to the above - those specks will only be seen with a loupe in the real world!

The VS1 has a nice small table (55%), though, and it looks like it has fat arrows, which both together could give a lot of coloured fire...

Both look good to my eyes, though, so I don't think you would go wrong with either!

Hmm it’s a tough choice they both look so nice to me! Just as long as the one I pick is well cut and sparkly...
I’ll be happy! Decisions decisions :p thanks guys for all of your input!!

I would pick the 1.15. There is less light leakage on the imagery. They are both great stones, I don’t think you’ll be unhappy, but the 1.15 has more light return. Hands down, I would go with that one.

Thanks! I was trying to look at the pics on the certificate but I honestly don’t really know what I am looking for. How can you tell there is less light leakage compared to the other? To me the photos look the same so I can’t tell

Also will the size different of both stones be noticeable in person?

On the imagery, the left is the 1.1 and the right is the 1.15. In the top, gray and blue areas represent light loss. White is light return. See how the 1.15 has less gray and blue? On the bottom, the darker, the better. White represents light loss. The 1.15 is more saturated with less light loss (less white).

There is a 3% difference in the size, so not super noticeable, if at all.

Wow thanks for that now I can actually notice the difference in light return! I ordered the 1.15ct, I was a bit hesitant with those black specks scattered around the diamond but You guys assured me that they won’t be visible so I feel more confident about it. Thanks so much guys!

Hey guys I finally got my ring in yesterday! It’s stunning In person and I love it. Just have a question regarding lighting. I notice in natural lighting and indirect sunlight it’s very bright/white and sparkly. I also noticed in artificial light in the restaurant, the diamond looked dark (but still sparkly) is that normal?

Thanks!!

Great thanks for the links! :) Aso, I would like your guys’ opinions, does the diamond look worth keeping and like it is good quality? I personally don’t know much about diamonds I did learn quite a bit from your guys though! I still have a couple weeks to return, I just want to make sure that it’s a good value! :)

It was this stone you bought?

I'm trying to re-check the angles but it looks like they've taken the grading report off of the webpage. Do you have it to hand? If so, please do post the angles etc.!

FWIW I think it looks great in the picture - nice organised facet patterning, not dark, doesn't appear to be leaky, the inclusions in the video on the webpage are miniscule and invisible in real life, and it looks lovely on your hand :))

This is the grading report which includes all of the angles (I believe they are all within the ideal range) I appreciate you taking time to help again!
