Hi all, I wanted to share one of the shining stars in our collection; an Imperial Russian presentation piece dated 1908-17; but likely made for the Tercenternary in 1913.
Of course our dream was that it could be Fabergé but it lacked the marks, of course. Since then, we've had it looked at by Wartski's of London, and a renowned Australian auction house, and later, it was seen by Geoffrey Munn of the Antiques Roadshow. We've determined the maker to be I.E. Morosov; one of Fabergés contemporaries, and jewellery maker to the Imperial Court. Morosov's jewels are exquisitely crafted in their own right. We can't believe we practically stumbled upon it quite unexpectedly a year or so ago.
I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as we do. It contains 2 stunning diamonds and cabochon sapphire in an Imperial Eagle 14ct setting.
