After much research, and much learning, the Ritani cushion ring I ordered for my ering has arrived. I would like to thank TODD GRAY and Pricescope for educating me and specifically Todd Gray for helping me by looking at images, asets and reading through a lot of emails sent to him by myself. Todd Gray's blog called niceice.com was incredibly informative. In addition, I emailed him randomly and requested his opinion and advice on the loose stones i was deciding between and he very graciously helped and was honest in his opinions to me. I thought i knew a decent amount regarding diamonds and purchasing them but lurking around Pricescope and then asking for opinions helped me to be educated even further.. My purchase with Ritani was a decent overall experience..they sent me HD videos of the stone, and a "scintillation" video. I requested an ASET but in the end (they said they tried but the machine was set for rounds) I did not receive one. However, I did have the in store preview option at a local jeweler and this was very helpful. The local jeweler (HENNE) was very customer service oriented, went over diamond specs with me, showed me identifying characteristics under the microscope etc. The only minor issue I had was getting the "Pricescope" discount of 1.5%, Henne had to call them to verify and I then had to get on phone with them. After a LONG wait on the line, it was approved and taken off the total.. We were very pleased with the center stone as well as the quality of the platinum french halo setting from ritani too..
Here are photos of the ring with specs: 1.33 carat E color VVS2 cushion cut center stone, table 55%, depth 67.1% pictures do not do it justice, it is a fireball of rainbows and sparkle. In rocktalky there is a link in my thread there with the loose stone HD video. What do you think pricescope??
