A couple of people have asked recently about inexpensive engagement rings. A few other posters and I recommended looking for an antique.
I was browsing ebay yesterday and I collected a bunch of examples of lovely rings being offered for under $1000--several under $500 or even $300. They''re mostly not traditional diamond solitaires, but they all have diamonds in them, and most are at least partly platinum. If I weren''t already married and a man I loved offered me any of them along with his hand, I would say yes.
Of course, if you were to consider buying these (or anything else), you would have to make sure you were comfortable with the seller''s reputation and return policies. And you might want to budget $100 or so for possible repairs & resizing.
rose-cut diamonds and a pearl
deco diamonds & sapphires
so dainty!
Onyx and diamonds
a little cocktaily, maybe
sweet haloed ruby
another cocktaily one
three-stone ring, $225
ribbon of diamonds with a pearl
angular deco
deco diamonds, rubies, & a pearl
deco with sapphires
