Ring Resizing?

My DH and I have recently lost a lot of weight. He is smaller than he was when we got married and I am getting there as well. Lately we have both noticed that our rings are getting too big. How many of you have had your rings cut down? Does it hurt the stability of the ring?

I had my solitaire engagement ring sized down from 5 to 4.5. It looks and fits great. It's a MWM ring, but I took it to a local jeweler that I trusted for the resize. I did lose my "MWM 950Plat" stamp when they re-polished it.

Thanks for your reply TG! I think that I will take them down to the jeweler who made my original engagement ring.

hi blackberry, if you are thinking about resizeing your JM I would really encourage you to only let Jim do it-I wouldnt trust a usual jeweller with mine due to the unique finish etc. Congrats on losing lots of weight btw! However I would personally wait until you have reached your goal to resize, so you dont need to do it again kwim? (unless the ring is falling off and you are concerned about security).
