Hi,
I still haven't managed to get an ASET image of the stone I want as the supplier can't manage to get one, however I am considering buying the stone through either B2C or Blue Nile and having them scrutinise it for me, if it comes back poor I can just take advantage of their money back facilities.
However what I really need advice on now is what ring design to have. I personally like rings that taper towards the stone and in particular I like Cathedral settings. However my concern is that pears are already prominent and I am worried a Cathedral will stick out too far. Are there any other factors to consider like security of the stone or light when it comes to design?
Here are the options I like.

Finally I have agreed prices with both vendors for the same stone but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to which Vendor is better for the actual ring itself. Going for 18k white gold, just plain and simple solitaire. If anyone has purchased from both vendors and can give me some feedback on the quality and customer service that would be great. I really like the split shank, (only available from B2C) but if Blue Nile are considerably better in quality I am willing to go for another ring.
Regards,
Chris
