Ring and stone from different vendors?

So every day now I am falling more and more in love with a Tacori ring that I saw a few days ago. I have looked into making a knock-off but I just don''t think it will look as nice. So, if I go down this road my issue becomes, how do I deal with buying the ring and diamond from separate companies? I have looked at a few companies that sell Tacori rings and I haven''t been very impressed with their selection compared to BGD or WF. Should I buy the ring from a vendor and have it sent to WF or BGD and have them put the stone in it?

Thanks,
Kirk

I think you''ll find that most of us work quite well with each other... the world of online diamond sales, and especially within the realm of ideal cut diamonds, is a rather small, tight knit group. Competition is fierce, but friendly

My recommendation would be to determine what size center stone you prefer, style #HT 2510 1/2 X is designed to accommodate a round brilliant cut diamond with an outside diameter between 7.4 - 8.0 mm which is a range of about 1.50 - 2.00 carats; however there are variations of the ring available to accommodate different size center stones, from 4.8 mm in diameter and up.

Tacori sets the Minimum Selling Retail Price (MSRP) for their production, dealers may sell for more than that price, but not for less... And most of us sell for the lowest price authorized, so pick a vendor who appeals to you and ask them to work cooperatively with the diamond vendor of your choice to coordinate the completion of the ring. I recommend having the diamond sent to Tacori to be set to maintain the validity of the Tacori lifetime warranty for workmanship and materials. Current production time is about four weeks from the date of order.

For your reference, the basic ring style is HT 2510; the 12 is really 1/2 for diamonds across the top half of the ring; the ''X'' designates a solid ring shank (lower half)... The style number will change according to the size of the center stone, the extent of the diamonds across the ring shank, and the type of ring shank as well as the metal type. For instance, if you were looking for an HT 2510 style ring built to accommodate a round brilliant cut diamond weighing 1.00 carats (instead of 1.50 - 2.00 carats) then you would order a HT2510 6.5 1/2 X with the 6.5 representing the outside diameter of the diamond (the range for 6.5 is 6.3 - 6.7 mm).

Okay, that''s my Tacori Tutorial for the day
