@psadmin Just saw something completely horrifying in another post - I won’t link it, it’s already been reported.

Can we please revisit posting policy? Specifically, preventing new users from posting for a certain amount of time after registration (could be as little as 24hours), and disallowing new users from creating new threads until they’ve got some post history (could be as little as 5 posts)…

What I just saw - it’s way past the annoying spam. Straight up “OMG if I’d opened this at the office I’d be fired on the spot”. This is now a forum usability concern

I received a notification on my email and it was even shown within the email. I definitely have scrolled Pricescope while my toddlers are near and I would be completely horrified if they saw what I just did. A good reminder for me to be cautious looking at the internet with kids around but also agree with some first time posting requirements. I’m newer here but have literally spent hours researching on this wonderful website and never once had a concern like this!

Ok, now my eyes are bleeding. That poster is on IGNORE.

WTH. I think many of us had the same reaction you did @springerspaniel. You have nothing to apologize for. Hopefully the mods will see this see this very soon and have it taken down quickly. i just asked the mods to delete another one.

That's what I’m hoping too @RMOO.

Thank you, we've taken care of it. We have many things in place that help prevent most of these things from occurring, but occasionally something does go through. This person had all the 'right' things for the forum's automated mechanisms to think it was a legitimate poster.

I will talk with the team about ways we could have prevented this user from doing this.

This is so disgusting! Something has to be done about these people who sign up as members and immediately post their trash.

I don't even know what their purpose is in posting. WHY????? Just why?!?!?!?!

the mods were talking about these issues on my Springsteen forum the other day
it seems it all gets rather gross at times

Exactly what I was thinking. What perverse enjoyment do they get in forcing others to view this unwanted content?

I wondered that too so I googled the screen name, which appears to be a p*rn site, though I'm not sure because I didn't want to log in. But if so, then I guess they are trying to advertise.

They’ve chosen the wrong group. We love bling p*rn. BLING p**n only please

Seriously. Not only the p*rn but those annoying ads aren’t going to convince me anything about Spectrum. It’s so annoying that every day I have to click on multiple fake users and click ignore so that I can see the regular users.
