Hi PSers,

I've toyed with the idea of taking my original e-ring and perhaps changing it into a pendant or resetting it. What does one do with the original setting (full eternity shared prong)? I don't think it could easily be sold nor worth the trouble. I was wondering could it still be salvaged back into a band or would it be common for the vendors to keep the small melee and put it towards the price of the new setting/pendant? Thanks in advance!

@PierreBear give DK a call. He recently fixed a broken eternity band for me and even removed a stone. The end results are stunning! I think he also fixed @msop04 eternity bands, so I think that you have pretty good chances of converting the setting into a band.

You can always try to sell it or use the meleè for another project, but that will be more expensive.

Yes, I second contacting DK... he somehow managed to size down my full bezel eternity without removing any bezels -- he moved each and every bezel every so slightly closer together! He's a wizard, I tell you! ;-)

If you can't or don't want to convert to full eternity, could you get a nice big colored stone and set it in there?

Thanks for sharing another idea! I don't think I'm a colored stone type of girl but perhaps I haven't really stretched my imagination. I would feel that there needs to be some other white stone component to tie back into the shank via a halo? Would love to see an example of you have any favorites.

Well, if you want a stone the same shape/size, you could do something like thisIMG_5787.jpg IMG_5790.jpg IMG_5792.jpg

Or, is the head is not integrated and could be easily swapped out, you could change the shape/size of the replacement stone

Or, you could add a halo crown

@ringo865 - Thanks for sharing those photos. It at least confirmed that I'm not a colored gem stone girl per the pictures. Though beautiful, just not my style. I was thinking is this a "lucky" thing for DH that I'm not into more gems? Or maybe a bad thing that I only like diamonds.. hahaha

Out of the two versions though, I do find the halo ones more pleasing to the eye just to have that white color balancing out. Maybe tastes will change 10 years later?!
