Resizing question

hello, I have recently purchased and provided an engagement ring and knew going in that it would have to be reized slightly. It looks like it''s about a quarter to a half size too large (we''ll get an exact measurement this weekend). My question is whether or not I should send this back to the manufacturer to have it resized or just have it done locally? I can have it resized for the cost of shipping to and from (the from part is overnight fedex) but my FI is concerned with sending it out versus having it done while she waits at a local jeweler. As I''m not sure either way are there any strong opinions?

Congratulations on your engagement. If you have someone your trust locally I would have them resize the ring for you.
