I presently have a single 3/4 carot diamond in a yellow gold setting and two other diamond rings in yellow gold settings. The later two are smaller stones...one ring has one stone and the other has two. I want to have a new setting made up for a three stone ring. I prefer platinium for the setting. Does anyone have any idea roughly how much it might cost to remove three of the stones and put into a platinium seting?? I also have a wedding band with small stones equaling 1/4 carots that i would like to have removed from it''s yellow gold setting and put into a platinium one. Again, any suggested price ranges? Thank you!

The least expensive platinum 3-stone ring will be a few hundred dollars. It''s easy to spend up to a few thousand. The difference will be in the details. This includes the other materials used (more diamonds), the amount and type of finishing your require and the name of the designer, dealer and craftsman.

Thanks for your reply. i guess I''ll have to go see a jeweler on this. I just hate to go and find out it will be way out of my price range. So close yet so far!!! The ring i have is beautiful and the other two are heirlooms. I used to love yellow gold but haven''t worn it in 15 years except for my engagement ring and wedding band...thanks again!
