I have a theory that if the first child is female she will look more like her father, equally, if the first child is male, he will look more like his mother. This is not backed by any science - but that's what I have found with most people I have known :)

Second child? well I don't have any theories there.

As for me? I look like my daddy - I've even inherited his mannerisms

I looked like dad''s side of the family in my earlier years. Now I am a carbon copy of my mum. I got lucky with my mum

Both! - so maybe my parents just look a lot like each other. Except for my hair color. Oh, and my feet are my dads

Older sister is the spitting image of my mom.
I''m an absolute mix of mom & dad.
Younger sister looks exactly like my dad.


But somehow we all look a lot alike as well!

My oldest child looks as much like me as a boy can to his mom

Second oldest looks like my ex

3rd child looks like neither of us but yet has features of both. Ex''s nose, my eyes, etc but his face does not really look like us

4th child is like my liittle clone. My friends call her mini me. She is an exact replica of how I looked at the same age its really spooky. In fact, when I showed her old photos of myself at her age (she is 6) she thought it was her!
 
All 4 of my mom and dad''s kids look like my dad. My youngest sis would be closest looking to my mom, but still has more facial characteristics of dad.

JT looks just like DH, although lots of people say he looks just like my family. Maybe DH and I look like siblings?!

It didn't work with me, lol. I clearly look like my mother's side, and my mother's paternal grandmother in particular. I sometimes think the only thing I got from my dad's side was curly red hair. My sister clearly looks like my father's side. She and I look nothing alike. My brother and I don't look related, either. You'd think I was sired by the milkman if I didn't have such a strong resemblance to my mother.
 
I look more like my dad but I don''t know whose personality I have. I''d like to think my dad''s but it''s really more a little of both.

My son definately looks more like DH than me. If you look at DH''s baby pics when he was the same age as DS is now they are strikingly similar. The biggest difference is that DH has brown eyes and DS has my baby blues.
 
I'm the oldest, and I don't really look like either of my parents. My next two siblings look JUST like my mom's family (a brother and sister), and my youngest sister 100% looks like my dad's family.

If I had to choose, I'd pick I'd look more like my dad, but only because I got his nose. Otherwise, I look adopted!


Edited to say: my husband is the spitting image of his father, and his little sister is the spitting image of his mother. It's CRAZY how similar they look to their parents!
 
That's tough ... I think I'm a pretty good blend of the two of them and I can see both of their features when I look at my face. If I had to pick one, I think I'm a bit more like my dad - especially in build since we're both tall and thin and my mom is much shorter

However, when I look at pictures of my mom in her 20s, I look a lot like her!

DH looks exactly like his dad. His dad passed 6 or so years ago, but I've seen pictures and it's uncanny.

DH and I have a lot of things in common (height, build) so we can at least predict somethings about our future kids.
 
I don't have kids, but I look JUST like my dad. JUST like him.

ETA: I am the oldest. So maybe the theory about first children holds true.

I am my father, 100%. Brother too. In fact, when we were kids people in our town used to take one look at us and say, "You must be ___'s kids."

All I got from my mom was her coloring and maybe she softened our features a bit.
 
I''m 2nd born and look like my Dad except I got my Mom''s eye color. My Dad is aging very gracfully so I am happy
about that.

My first born bother (and actually my little brother) both look like Mom except they got my Dad''s eye color.

One thing I find stange is that all of us kids are taller (realitively) than our parents. Mom is only about 5''3''''
Dad is about 6''. I ended up 5''8'''' and brothers are 6''1" amd 6''2".

Second son looks like his Dad- almost spitting imge (2nd marriage) acts like neither of us ???
last child daughter looks like me!!! Finally!!! - very similar... dont know who she acts like either
 
My mom and I look like twins.

My DD is a spitting image of her father. Figures, I do all the work and he gets all the benefit

I think I favor both of my parents equally.
 
I am 100% my mother''s child. My sister is 100% my father''s. My mother is fair skinned, short... traditional Irish heritage lol. My dad is a bit taller, dark, Portuguese. My sister is dark with dark hair and very latin characteristics. She has an easy beauty. I''m short, blonde, fair skinned, and make up makes me prettier haha. No in seriousness, I take a lot of the pale look, and burn easy.

But I hold my beer better

I''m a mix. It definitely depends on which of my parents people meet first - if they know my dad, they think I look like him. If they know my mom, they think I look like her.

eta: now that ive stared at it for awhile, i think i look slightly more like my dad

I take after my dad a lot... but my hair is a throwback to my great grandmother, as I am a redhead and both my parents have brown hair.

My sister is a mix of my mom and dad, but her coloring is more like my father''s. She''s also built more like my mother, very skinny and not very curvy. My brother looks like a combination of my dad and my mom''s brother. He''s super tall like my dad too. It''s weird, my sister and I look alike--my brother doesn''t really look like us.. he fit''s in better with my uncle''s children.

Oh, you might be right! I''m the first and only child and when I was younger I looked so much like my dad they nicknamed me "Ernestina," a feminized version of his name.

As I got older though, I think I started to look equally like my parents and inherited a lot of both of their mannerisms. I have my mom''s laugh, which I never realized until I heard it on tape last year!

I look like a very good mix of my parents.

My one brother looks a lot like my dad and my other brother looks a lot like my mom, but they both look very similar. Strange! I think we are all three good mixes.

I dont''; have kids yet, when we do, who knows what they''ll look like. My DH is black and I am white, we look pretty different

I''m a pretty even mix of both, though my ''stronger'' features are from my Dad.


So far, my son looks more like me, but he''s only 7 months.
