Hello!

I decided to open a new thread. Hope you wouldn''t mind.:-)

It took me a while to get back to Pricescope forums. I thought I was going into labor last week, and I have not felt so well until yesterday.

My sister has decided to change her budget and the specs for her e-ring.

Yesterday I found these stones. I would really like to receive your opinions on these stones.

1. http://www.jamesallen.com/diamond.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131&item=1020338

1.25 ct., G, SI1, GIA doc., $6680
Depth: 61.2%
Table: 55%
Crown Angle: 35.5
Pav. Angle: 40.6
Girdle: Thin - Med
Culet: None
Flo: None

I''ve just emailed Jim to request an IS image of this diamond. Once I receive it, I''ll post it here.

2. http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/3103/

I use the specs on the AGS doc.

1.255 ct., G, SI1, AGS doc, $6897
Depth: 59.7%
Table: 56%
Crown Angle: 33.8
Pav. Angle: 40.8
Culet: Pointed
Girdle: 0.7-1.1% Too thin?????
Flo: None

3. http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-273585.htm#

1.24 ct., F, VS2, AGS report, $9138
Depth: 61.8%
Table: 55.4%
Crown Angle: 34.8
Pav. Angle: 40.8
Culet: Pointed
Girdle: Thin-Med
Flo: None

This stone doesn''t come with AGS diamond quality document, but it comes with AGS lab report. I''m not sure whether she should fall for this one, but I would still very much like your opinion on all of these three stones.

Thanks a bunch!!!

Hi Branson,

Sorry you weren''t feeling well.

First one I''d reserve judgement until we see an IS.

Second one, I''m not loving the lgf''s on that one. Way too long for my taste, but others may like it. I just know I personally wouldn''t pick it...

So, so far my pick would be the WF stone. Doesn''t look bad at all.

Thanks Ellen! :-)

Here''s the IS image that I''ve just received from JA. Please let me know what you think of it. Thanks!!!

Ya know, it''s far from the worst I''ve seen, but I just don''t love it, or the angles. I know there are better.

I''d still go with the WF stone you picked. However, I found one slightly bigger, for a lot less. It must be new, the data isn''t up, but it''s an ACA, so there''s surely nothing much to worry about. Whatcha think?

I'd go with the james allen one. Whiteflash wants 2.4k more for one color grade and one clarity grade above the others....and it's not even ACA? No thanks.

Thanks Ellen and Luckystar for your input! :-)

I''ve looked at the diamond that Ellen found. The ACA one. I''ve emailed Whiteflash to get more info on the diamond....

I wonder why the IS image of the diamond at JA is not very clear/focus. Could it be because of the instrument? It seems llike Whiteflash always has good/clear pictures of their diamonds.

JA doesn''t invest in the quality of Ideal Scope pictures.

I'm no expert, but I just don't love how skinny the arrows are on the GOG one, and something seems a bit "off" about the JA IS image. The first WF diamond is nice but expensive. I'd go with the ACA. Although I'm concerned about that crystal in the middle...make sure it's eye-clean!
