I have a diamond reserved with Whiteflash, but I can't decide between these two diamonds. Can you guys give me some input please? Thank you so much in advance.

AAA F/VS2 ACA H&A, HCA1.1
BBB F/VS2 ACA H&A, HCA1.4

Imma say BBB because it looks slightly brighter. Do you see how in the ASET, the culet is a red-green mix? I'm taking that to mean that the culet will be brighter in more lighting conditions than in AAA (which is a solid green). Also in the face-up photo, the BBB culet area does look a little brighter to me.

I've also seen red-green mixing that indicates leakage, but that was with more black mixed. Since your ASET is a saturated mix of red and green and the photo is really bright there, I think you will be ok.

If you want to be sure, ask WF to do a video of them side-by-side. (Does WF do videos? Can't hurt to ask.)

Thanks antelope1!

That was a very helpful analysis of these two diamonds. The WF consultant said it was a close call, but if he had to chose one, he'd go for BBB also.

If there are any more opinions, I would greatly appreciated it!

Here goes a side-by-side image to compare. Which one would you pick? I'm thinking of purchasing tomorrow (11/12)...

BBB (on left) AAA (on right)

Thanks! I appreciate all the help!

I like BBB more, mostly because the inclusion near the center of AAA would drive me nuts.

Seems like my WF rep is torn between the two diamonds also.

On Monday: "Between the [BBB] and [AAA], that would be hard to say. I would have to really pick apart the diamonds and say the [BBB] since there are less inclusions visible in the hearts image. It doesn't make a visual difference though."

On Thursday: "Both diamonds are very very similar, the one that seemed to stand out the most was the [AAA]. It was very hard to pick between the two so what I had them do was put both diamonds side by side and pick the one that stood out the most."

AHH...I'M TORN!!!

then I would get AAA since the rep said that one 'stood out the most' but really at this point I think you have two great contenders and can't make a bad decision

Flip a coin. :D

I'm leaning towards BBB now, since as some of you mentioned and brought it to my attention, the inclusion near the center of AAA would drive me nuts! Plus, it's a few dollars cheaper.

... Pull the trigger!!! :appl:

As SC said, it is a coin flip, both are beautiful.

Throw a dart.

Seriously, they're both beautiful stones and you'd never see that tiny inclusion withough a loupe. If your rep at WF said one is better than I'd go with that one. They've never steered me wrong yet and ACA's are a great cut.

Trust the rep, go with AAA. I slightly prefer the AAA pattern.

I would pick the BBB one for sure; brighter and cleaner. Is the price the same?

Well, how mind clean do you want your stone to be? With the clarity grade, the stone will be eye clean regardless, but I can clearly see the black carbon incusions in the center of AAA and near the H&A patterning. If knowing those spots are there will bother you- as it would to those "mind clean" people.... then go with BBB.

The vendor said that AAA really stood out more to them.... lighting, angle, who knows why it stood out more to them, maybe table size like Yssie said, but for me the concrete example of the inclusions would set the two apart.

I spoke with the rep today, and apparently the diamond reviewers downgraded BBB from ACA to Expert Selection, which also means a ~$400 lower price tag. I was actually hoping and expecting a bigger "discount".

The cleft in the hearts were slightly longer than the 8% allowance to earn ACA classification.

I was actually leaning toward purchasing BBB and am happy to hear about the lower price, but is the $400 savings worth losing the ACA brand and the scope that comes with it? Will I regret not paying the $400 to have a "true" hearts and arrows diamond?

If AAA is on the right, I prefer it.
It looks brighter to me.
But the fact that BBB is only Expert Selection doesn't disturb me.

Personal preference. ES is still upgradable and in their buyback policies. H&A scope you could just ask to buy them from WF with the$ 400 you save from the downgrade.
