Reputable Chicago jeweler recommendation?

I was wondering if anyone here knew of or used a jeweler in Chicago (preferrably not Chicagoland but actually downtown area) that is reputable? I am getting my new halo setting next week and would like to have it reset by someone that others have experience with. Even though our diamond is laser inscribed we would like to have peace of mind that nothing will happen to our stone like a switch-a-roo or anything bad. Any help would be appreciated

I used Marshall Pierce for my e-ring, but it got sent out to the designer who matched the setting to the stone, so while I can recommend it as a store I don't actually know if they set rings! Apparently I'm an idiot and less than helpful.

I can say B.E.G. always recommends Windy City Diamonds.

Missed this the first time around!

I totally recommend Windy City - ask for Jim - Jim is awesome (but really they all are).

I can confidently recommend them. If you go through my past threads, WC has set all my jewelry from 2009-2010 (not a long period of time, but that's when my buying was in full swing so it's a LOT of pieces). They have stunning settings (though only my cuprian tourmaline is one of theirs). Also they made my five stone diamond band - sourced the diamonds, created the setting according to what I wanted, etc. Oh and the aqua asscher setting is a simple 4 prong knife edge and that's one of theirs too.

They have a great bench jeweler, customer service is great - store was a bit shabby looking when I was there but I think they've remodeled since I left Chicago, and honestly if I were still living in Chicago that's totally where I'd be going still for all my projects.

And they're downtown in Jewelers Row, in the Maller Building.

I can recommend Dimend Scassi. They are in the Jeweler's Building in the Loop.

My family has used them and I just had my diamond set there. The sons run the business now, and in my opinion, these "little" places survive on word of mouth, which means they don't do anything to jeopordize their reputation. Big fan of them. Very professional and honest.
