Renting an RV

DH wants to rent an RV to take to a family reunion this summer. Any recommendations?

Three friends and I rented an RV from Cruise America back in 1999. We drove round trip between Miami and New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Fun times and good experience. All four of us (three women and one man) were comfortable driving the RV and we had no problems at all with Cruise America. Just be careful when emptying the waste tank!

As DH is the one who wants to rent the RV, DH will have the honor of dealing with the waste tank. I deal with enough waste on a daily basis having a 7 month old.

The only thing I would keep in mind is that an RV is HUGE and uses a LOT of gas, so it will really suck up your pennies. But my grandma used to have one and I loved that thing. It was so much fun to travel in.

I looked into this when D and I took our West Coast road trip! I really loved the idea of it, but after pricing it out, it was too expensive to justify. The charge was by the mile, which didn't make sense for us since we were planning to drive quite a bit. Anyway, I always thought it looked like fun and hope you have a great time!
