This is a reminder that we host this Preloved forum as a gesture of goodwill towards our members and it takes a significant amount of time and resources to manage.
In the last few weeks, we have received two different complaints from PSers saying they were scammed completely (item never sent) or ghosted when an item is missing in the mail. We cannot be responsible for mediating these kinds of fights and have some strong recommendations to protect yourself both if you are buying or selling:
1. If something feels off, do not complete the transaction. No one on Pricescope is vetted or otherwise known to us even if they may seem that way, scammers do occasionally come here.
2. Always complete the sale on a real "for sale" platform such as Ebay, Etsy, etc. It is worth the peace of mind, and they can help you if a transaction goes poorly.
3. Always pay via Paypal or another method that has buyer and seller protection, it is worthwhile to spend the few extra percent to always buy/sell in this way. Sellers, you also have more protection using this method.
4. Always purchase full insurance, no one should be offering insurance as an "extra" service, just spend the money to fully insure items and include that in the price listed. It's for everyone's protection, including sellers. Make sure the insurance you purchase covers the type of item you are selling, there are different mail services with different insurance coverages.
Please remember that we cannot mediate transactions that have gone badly, and you should contact the buyer/seller assistance of the for sale platform where the purchase took place. We will sticky this after people have seen it.
