We decided to go with the place I posted about a week or so ago. I don''t know if it''s perfect, but I think I got sick of looking. I''m excited that it will be on the water, and I think it''s a nice location.
It is here: http://www.wharftavernri.com/
The funny part was that my parents visited last weekend to try out the food and get info on the room. My mom left a temporary hold on the room, but no deposit, since fiance''s family is paying for the rehearsal dinner. So I asked fiance to call up and officially confirm the room and mail in the deposit from his parents.
So today I get an emergency email from my mom - the event coordinator has called and someone else has inquired about our date and we need to place a deposit ASAP! So I tell her to go ahead and give them a deposit and we will reimburse them later. At least we still get the room...
A few hours later, I get a call from fiance. Bad news. He called up and asked to reserve the room, but someone else had already inquired about it and they are giving them first dibs. The event coordinator is going to call the other person and call back if they don''t want the room anymore...
I bet you see where this is heading. My silly fiance never thought to tell the woman (or it never occurred to him?) that the people who had inquired about the room a week ago was his own future mother-in-law. And it did not occur to my mother that the person calling up to reserve the room for the same day was her future son-in-law!
