Have any of you who chose a halo regretted it? Have you changed your halo to something different? If so, what was the reason you changed it?

my upgrade is a halo. my original set was a solitaire so it did take a little time for me to get used to the overall effect of a halo to the point I thought it was too much for me and tried to sell it. Common sense came back and I was able to get my ring back and am so thankful because I love it now more than ever. no regrets at all about the ring at all.

I love closed-in, one-level halo rings, like the ones shown on the left and bottom, but not the 3D kind shown on the right.

I may be in the minority here for not liking "raised halo" like the one on the right, because everyone on Pricescope seems to love it. I can''t seem to warm up to its "chunky-layered" design at all, especially for a RHR, so I returned it.

No, I still love mine.

I don't know if regret is the right word. I love my setting and I can't imagine (and I've tried) one I like better for my stone but if I had a different center stone, I probably wouldn't have gotten a halo. If I had just the money in hand, and had to buy something competely new... I think I'd end up with a EC with step cut shields or bullets or something similar to Bluerose's setting. But my center is unchangable and my setting is right for the center I have. But as a general rule-- I prefer three stones.

exactly the same with me

This is my favorite halo ever , but it's just too fancy for me for everyday wear. I was really considering this tamer version , but still, it was a little too much.
This last Leon halo would be about right for my tastes plus my everyday wear , but I just couldn't pull the trigger for this project. In 5 years, for a right hand ring, I think I definitely have to go halo, and something like any of these 3 examples.

Enthusiastic thritto from me ... the single-level halos look neat and sleek to me. The double layer halos, I am not a fan of.

I love all of my halos.

My ering is the only halo I have. I love it! But one halo is enough for me.

Nope, I love my ring.

My e-ring came with a halo setting, and I didn''t care for it; I reset it without a halo. The thing that I really didn''t like was the contrast between the center stone and the melee- if you get a halo I''d match the melee in the halo with the center diamond as closely as possible. Also if you have a larger center diamond (like 2 carat and above) you should be aware it''s going to be pretty bulky on the finger. Those were the two things I particularly didn''t like about the halo setting my stone came with.

I too prefer halos that are flush with the center stone like zhuzhu posted; bezel or prongs, I like both, just as long as the center diamond isn''t sitting way high up out of the halo. Personal preference though I guess.

Also I think workmanship is pretty important for halo settings especially. Poor or mediocre workmanship shows pretty noticeably on ornate settings like halos IMO.
