Ok, my head has been spinning for the last couple of weeks. I have been reading and reading posts here on PS and I must say, this is probably one of the best message boards I have ever been on. I hope someone can help me out here.

I just decided to propose to my woman in October, our official 2 year anniversary. I am a type of person that feels confident on most life changing decisions, but after seriously looking at what it takes to buy an engagement ring...WOW, I never knew how much detail needs to be put into this decision. I would love to just make her happy and give her the ring that she is dreaming of. The only information I discreetly gained from her is that she loved the Tiffany’s Lucida setting other than the traditional solitaire round diamond. I really do not want to go to Tiffany’s for a ring and after reading the posts about Tiffany’s, I would like to find something special for her.

Now what I have found is I absolutely love the X-Prong setting in platinum and after looking at the Lucère, Elara, and all the other non round diamond shapes(oh my) I like the Regent diamond. I can’t seem to find a Regent shape on any type of ring settings. Does anyone have pics of this diamond shape?

Here is the good news:
I am working over in Brussels Belgium for the next two months and have the advantage to go to Antwerp to buy a diamond. I am looking for a 1 ct+, vg-ideal cut, color of H-G and clarity of VVVS1-VVS2. My knowledge is limited on the depth, table, crown angle, and pavilion angle, but will continue to educate myself.

I guess I am feeling overwhelmed and would like to see what people thought on the Regent shape and look at pics. I live right outside of New York and would like to price shop between Antwerp and NYC. Does have anyone have advice in shopping in Antwerp? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

GOG's website has a gallery page with pictures of rings. They don't have a regent in an x-prong but they show a Jubilee in an x-prong at the top of the page and a Regent in a different setting lower on the page. It should give you an idea of what it would look like.
