My first custom piece was a diamond wedding band to go with my original, modest .41 F VS? e-ring. But I was young and didn't know how to insist on what I wanted, and I wasn't happy with what I ended up with: eight 3-pointers badly/unevenly channel set.
I ended up leaving that band in a drawer and wore a plain band for years. I'd now like to completely redo the ring, as it has a great deal of sentimental value. I'd like to bead set the diamonds in milgrain boxes, a la Making the Grade's band (I hope she doesn't mind me reposting one of her pics). My stones are smaller, I think, (and not OECs, boo hoo), so maybe add a 1-3 stones for more coverage in a thinner band. My questions: 1. Who should I contact about doing this work? Ability to do milgrain will be especially important. 2. Are there any casts for 3-pointer milgrain boxes out there to save me some money? 3. Any thoughts about how much this might cost? (I know, get quotes!) And 4. is it possible to reuse the platinum from my original band? Thanks so much, you lovely PSers, you! I'm excited about the prospect of wearing the stones I got married with once again!
