Recommended NYC Appraiser

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could recommend a NYC appraiser that would charge a reasonable price for appraising a 2 carat ring.

I''ve called around and have found prices around $250 - is that reasonable.

I will have a GIA certificate and the diamond should have a Laser Inscription Registry on it.

Consider NYC location and the diamond size, I''d say the estimated range is about what those guys charge. I believe there are two or three appraisers listed on the Pricescope appraisers section who can do a good job for you at competitive rates.

Surprisingly, there are very few Pricescope recommended appraisers in NYC where the Diamond District is located.
I used David Wolf and Toby Smart of Just Appraisers and was pleased. You can call them to get an idea of their prices. I think they charge about $100 a carat but I am not certain that this is accurate.

Thanks everyone - I spoke to David and he seemed to be a great guy. When I do purchase my diamond and ring, I will definitely contact him.
