So I got the stone, now I need to get the setting. I have an idea of what I am looking for and plan to hit the B&M shops to see if I can find something like it, but if I can''t - I may need to have it done as a custom design. If anyone has experience with a good custom designer in/around Philly, let me know.

Also, how much do custom made settings run? This would be a fairly simple platinum solitaire setting, nothing too intricate and no side-stones.

anyone from Philly?

I went to jewelers row today, but I HATE the B&M jewelry shopping experience. The salespeople are always so pushy and desperate. I found a few who do custom stuff, but I want to see if there are any PS favorites. Any recommendations?

need some responses here...

anyone use Campbell & Company? They were really nice and specialize in custom jewelry making. But I want this to be good quality, who is the best in Philly for custom work?

I got my wedding band from Barsky and I absolutely LOVE it!
Its a very unique design and there stuff is high quality. You should check them out.

thanks, are they good for custom work though?

I went there when I first started looking, I found them a bit too pushy/desperate.

Anyone else please chime in

Barsky''s and Ed Campbell are both decent places. You can use Kao, a small store at about 734 Sansom which has a wonderful platinumsmith upstairs. Also, at 725 Sansom is A&K. Arthur is the guy to see at A&K and they are really not B&M retailers, but basically craftsmen. Arthur is an excellent jewelry maker and can make you what YOU have in mind. D''Antonio and Klein at about 728-726 Sansom are also custom fabricators at a fairly high level of design work. They are very nice guys with loads of expertise, too.
