Hi everyone! I received my long awaited Asscher solitaire ring from Yekutiel at ID Jewelry in NYC. I am thrilled to bits and cannot thank you all enough for your wonderfully generous expertise (especially Karl!), input and help. I am sure that if it hadn't been for all of you and Yekutiel, I would not have been so lucky.

Yekutiel was a total rock star. We did everything over the internet and phone as I live in CA. He found me the stone, sent me all the reports, videos and images. It had a rather old GIA report with a Graff inscription so he sent it back to GIA to get a new one done. Then he took it to, and picked it up from, an independent pre-purchase appraiser. He then set it for me in a custom setting - somehow he knew exactly what I wanted - took it back to the appraiser for the final evaluation and appraisal and overnighted it to me so that it arrived on my birthday. It arrived beautifully packaged and deliciously sparkly!

I am amazed and delighted by the service he gave us and will always go to him and recommend him to all those in need of a good, honest, kind and supremely professional jeweler.

After I received it here in California, I took it to another appraiser just to make sure that it hadn't been damaged in transit etc. and so that I could adequately insure it. I was completely blown away by the replacement value this 2nd appraiser put on it - 40% more than our purchase price. Amazing. Yekutiel is a rare gem indeed :)

Here are my pics and a little video

:love::love::love: Don't forget to put it on the asscher and emerald thread!

Enjoy, it is beautiful. What carat size is it again? Edited-: just saw 2.26-- nice size. Video shows it is gorgeous

HI:

Gorgeous!

Not that it matters.....why was the Graff inscription removed?

cheers--Sharon

Sharon, not really sure. I think it may have been on the ring itself and not the diamond. Anyhow, we had it redone and recertified GIA:)

Absolutely gorgeous sst!!! Congrats!! :love::appl:

And I couldn't agree more about Yekutiel... a genuine, honest soul that is also a delight to talk with! We were so thrilled with the asscher he found us that I now have him doing two more projects for me :mrgreen2:

Your asscher is beautiful!:love::appl: Asschers are definitely one of my favorite cuts!

Now, I have to ask you, you aren't going to insure with that inflated appraisal amount are you? Most of us tell the appraiser our sales price before they do the final report, because never do I want to pay for insurance premiums on a value higher than what I paid, assuming I bought from a retail jeweler. Your ring is worth what you paid IDJ and the insurance company will only replace with a like item and it won't be the amount of that appraisal. You'd be drastically overpaying your premiums if you use the inflated appraisal. I'd call the appraiser back and tell him or her that you really only want to insure for the price you paid, and ask will he please adjust the value to the retail price you paid.

That is a gorgeous asscher. Congrats on the ring and wear it with good health!
