Just want to see what you all think of my options.

Note: She's not obssessed with size and has said she will love anything I get her, but I still want to make it special. She is a nurse and wants to wear it at work so I don't want to go too big, and I'd rather get a gret quality stone and sacrifice a little size. Also want to go with a platinum setting because I think it will wear better and last longer, what do you all think of this?

Here's the stones I've narrowed it down to. Please tell me which you recommend and why

Think I'm goin with the Platinum Royal Crown

once again please let me know your thoughts... I want to make the right decision and I know some of you are very knowledgable.

Been quoted $4,299 for the Platinum RC Setting and the .728 stone.... good price?

I would also go with a great quality stone and sacrifice a little size. As far as platinum vs white gold, platinum will develop a patina over time (some people like this, I believe you can get the ring polished if you do not). White gold needs replating every so often, depends on the wearer's skin chemistry, environment, etc. I think both would be great choices.

As far as the specific ring you picked out, I really like that setting but worry that it may sit too high (unless she prefers a higher setting? when I think nurse I generally think a lower set diamond). Also this setting is a bit on the thicker side at 3.3 mm and that is not my personal preference for a 0.75 ct stone so that could also be something to consider. It just depends on if you like the look of a thicker band or not, I think both can be beautiful but I would prefer the thinner band. Overall I think it's a beautiful setting. The diamonds look good also, I am not an expert but the 0.738 seems to have red extending to the edges of the ASET and the picture shows crisp facets so I think it would be a good choice. I don't think any of them would be bad choices though.

I like the setting. For nurses, I would imagine an open setting that can be cleaned easily is neccessary. Also, as some of the doctors and nurses here have mentioned, the ring should be able to fit under a glove. Is it low enough for that? Does she wear gloves often?

I'd probably go with the .716

The Royal Crown is lovely, of course, perhaps you can ask them to set it lower? Or maybe the Caroline is a little bit lower sitting?

all 4 stones you picked out are lovely. HOnestly can't go wrong with whichever one you pick. As for the setting, I really like it. I feel like a cathedral setting is more protective of the prongs and stone. Only thing to check up on is the functunality of the setting- how high is it, can she wear it to work with gloves. is scratching patients an issue (not sure how princess stones and settings are with this).

All in all, I love it.

This would be my only concern. The setting seems a little high for gloves, etc. So I would just check on that.
