Hi everyone,

After searching for months online, I am very close to pulling the trigger and purchasing a ring for my girl. I had started my originat topic at https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/feedback-needed-aset-lab-reports-included.168078/
but have included all images that I got from the seller(who is listed as vendor on this site) including an option for ring setting below. Can you please review and let me know what you think? Like I said in my original thread, I have been saving for forever and want to make sure I get the best value for my money.

Full ring details:
1.20/ct, Princess Cut, H, VS2, GIA Certified
Ring setting is .50/cts - diamonds are G/H Si1 - in 14k white gold and full eternity. Head is being modified to fit princess cut.
Total price: $6,200 (Is this a good deal?)

What do you all think?

I can't really comment on the stone because I don't know as much about princess cut numbers. The picture looks pretty good, though. Are they ordering the setting in your girlfriend's size and with a head for a princess to fit your stone? I wouldn't want an existing setting with diamonds on the shank altered in size and with a new head. Hopefully they are ordering one the size and type you need.

Yes, they are ordering a new size for me.

Anyone else ahve comments/feedback/opinions?

Can you get some regular actual photos, even a video?

Improperly taken photos through any scope are useless - and the second looks like a pic through a H&A scope to me...

ETA: that first photo is confusing me - what on earth is that supposed to be? I see the green and red bands of an ASET scope, but - held upside down??

Oh - now I remember that photo. I replied in your other thread - stone looks nice, price sounds fine to me.

The stone looks lovely and its a classic setting> whats not to love! I think you've picked out a beautiful and well priced combo.

If yoy wanted to save a few $$ you could ask for half eternity on the shank, have the side stones to only go 1/2 way around. (I've never seen the point of full eternity anyway as all the stones on the bottom half are hidden.

Thank you! What do you think about the table % and Depth %age and girdle? Good, Bad or Ugly?

The thing about fancy shapes is that the numbers really, really don't give you all the info you need to get any good idea of how the stone will look and perform. The photos you have and the opinions of trusted advisers who have/can see the stone in-person are the next best thing to seeing it and playing with it yourself. And IMO that's a photo of a pretty stone.

The girdle does have very large variation. So two questions for your vendor:
1) how much of the girdle is very thin - does the very thin portion(s) pose a durability risk in setting/daily wear?
2) how much of the girdle is ex thick - will it be unslightly once set?

Another question - I imagine that is a popular size/colour/clarity combo, the report is from last year - has the stone been owned since that report was issued? If so, if it was me buying, I would plan on an independent appraisal of the loose stone to ensure the report accurately represents the current condition of the stone - that it hasn't acquired any nicks/scratches/chips from setting or wear since it was sent to GIA last year.
