Yes ask for an idealscope image if it is a GIA stone. HCA is a rejection tool for GIA. Idealscope is what select from.
ERD does great custom work too. So are they making your setting for you as well?

They are doing my setting too! Cad/cast. They will send an idealscope image tomorrow.

Good.
ALWAYS ask for an idealscope if it's available or can be done. Don't just buy off the paper.
Should be nice, though!

The stone looks beautiful. Really lovely. Small table. Love that.
Be patient with the CAD setting process. Post your CADs here and we will help you with them. We do it all the time.

RR! Looks gorgeous....excited for you!!

Just curious ...I get how to read light leakage in an IS. But what does anyone do with the results? Is it pass or fail too? Negotiation tool with the vendor on pricing?

I will Gypsy! Ironically the setting will be similar to my original ring but with pave on the prongs and basket. There are some details however that I'd love opinions on.

Art Deco my upgrade buddy! You remind me that I managed to go from a drastically different ring and diamond (EC with halo) to my original one (RB solitaire with pave). I think I'm really going to love this new size though. Kinda symbolic in a way - falling in love again with your first love! Lol

Ok thanks for the note about idealscope. Fingers crossed it looks as lovely as the photos and report.

YES- it is like that! My husband and I felt like teenagers again in GOG yesterday picking the stone!

Did you decide on a setting??

When will you get the idealscope? tomorrow? is this an online vendor?

I do not recommend pave on the prongs. Do you have any idea how fragile pave is. And prongs get knocked around a LOT on solitaires.

I probably have the term wrong. Pave on the basket but the prong tips won't have pave.

You picked a stone!!! Details??? Yay what about the setting? I'll post cads of mine when we get there. Vendor is from PS, engagement rings direct.

That is an H&A viewer image and not an idealscope image?

Update-ERD said their ideal scope is a black background with white arrows as this is how the facets show up in real life. From what I'm reading the symmetry of arrows, and lack of strong contrast between the red and pink areas, are all good. Any red flags?

Nope this is def an idql scope not h and a.

It looks great. Don't worry.

Ah I see, my bad! Thanks for clarifying :wavey:
