Hello!
What a great web site - I have learned a great deal over the course of the past few weeks.
I have been shopping around - both B&M and on-line. What are your thoughts on the info below?
Would this be referred to as an AGS 3?
It''s a round brilliant stone.

TedK,

I saw your other contemporary post here also, where you''ve been given good advice. This could be one of those good values, where the proportions aren''t a match for what has been the AGS system, but where the optical result in probably excellent, nonethless, as shown by the HCA score. Though, for some reason Ana got .7 where I got .5, ordinarily, both scores are excellent. Her other warning about the girdle is one I saw, too. Garry frequently warns about the girdle being very thin will make it prone to chipping, and AGS''s own system gives this diamond a hit by its thickness...where I read performance doesn''t tend to suffer, but you pay more for weight that is not seen.

Perhaps either your vendor, or an appraiser can comment on the girdle issue. Consider double checking the goodness of the diamond with another cut grading system, but I''m guessing the HCA result and your eyes match appropriately, and that it''s reasonable to be ready to buy.

But you should pay fairly for it. Also sounds like your dealer is representing it as 000, and this it seems to clearly not be. Typically, such diamonds are premium priced. You should really be able to pay a somewhat discounted price for the diamond, based on...being lucky...having it not well proportioned from the point of view of accepted standards, yielding the AGS 3 result.

Best,
