I just have to rave about a totally awsome friend that I have. She''s not necessarily the person I''m closest to, but she''s hands down one of the people I trust most. Well, when I asked her what a "point person" was (they ask you to provide contact info. in my venue contract), she generously offered to take the job! For all intents and purposes, she will be acting as my day of coordinator, without the hefty price tag! I was floored, but ever so grateful she would do this for me. Besides a hired pro, there is no one that I''d feel more confident in. Actually, because I know her, I''m almost more inclined to trust her than a hired pro! Hmmm...now to think of an appropriately fabulous gift...

Wow I wish there were more people like that in the world! And wish I had one of them as my friend too!

It''s wonderful having fantastic friends ... especially when they are excited to be engaged in your wedding process.

I''m happy for you and glad for her that you will be rewarding her kindess handsomely. How fun!!

What a good friend! I love posts like this, we never hear enough about what good friends there are out there!

That sounds awesome! Your friend really deserves a round of applause for being so helpful.

What a kind and generous friend!! You are lucky to have her

That''s lovely of her! She sounds great!

Thanks ladies! I really am lucky to count her as a friend.

Now a question regarding a gift. I know she and her husband would love to save for a house (for the daughter her husband already has, for the dog they just got, and for the family they''d like to start together...soon). Would cash be totally tacky, or appreciated? She''s both sentimental and practical (and I myself tend towards the practical side), so it''s a tough call for me. Thanks!

I wouldn''t do cash. If someone gave me cash in that situation it might make me feel more than a vendor than a very helpful and loved friend.

Cash is too much like paying her for the job. A gift is a memory. Need I suggest jewelry?

How nice of your friend to do this for you!!! I'm sure she will like anything you give her. I would not give her cash though.
