Rare Hexagonal Diamond Concerns

Hello. We have found a rare diamond, sourced through a bespoke jewellery designer in Melbourne. The stone was found in Antwerp. We are very interested in using for an engagement ring, however I am far too inexperienced to know if it is a lemon or not, and what it should be priced at. All the research I am conducting is not helping anymore because it is such a random stone and I can't compare it. Can anybody please help? Here are the stats:

Cut: Hexagonal
Weight: 1.24 Carats
Colour: J
Clarity: VS2

I know it has some windowing toward the bottom of the stone. Should that be a deal breaker?
I only have three photos. In the photo with two diamonds, it is the stone on the left.

How much should I expect to pay for this would you say?
Are there some specific questions I should be asking the supplier for to help make the decision etc?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I know nothing about this cut, but I think its lovely idea! What a wonderful look for a unique engagement ring. Take this free bump and hope that someone else comes along who knows :)

Are you looking for something different or unique? That stone has a huge window in the center. If you are looking for unique/
different that may be it but if you are looking for fire, sparkle and brilliance I don't think that stone will provide it. I would
try to find unique while still trying to capture the beauty of what diamonds can do like no other stone.

That hex is a step-cut stone. If you like step-cut stones you might look at Octavias. They are cut to have steps but also ideal
light return. They are branded stones, pretty unique/distinct in my mind. The cut has not been around for very long. They were
designed by one of our own PSers...Karl K.

Not sure what your budget is but this is for example. They sparkle like crazy for a step cut.

Here is a thread with good pictures.

The other less expensive options would be a plain asscher, a step cut triangle, perhaps a daussi cut cushion.

This is a triangle but not step cut...just as an example

Any fancy cut stone that has a unique shape would be different.
Here is a slightly funky cut oval...

Anyway, that is some info to chew on. I personally would not be keen on that hex with the window but the stone is not for me
so it really depends what You are looking for. Welcome to PS... :wavey:

Did you see this hex ring...no window...it has steps all the way down through the center. If you want to stick with a hex shape I would
try to find one that has steps all the way down through the center.
