I am looking to find a Radiant, but after hours on this site I as confused as day 1. I have seen many of you say that a really nice radiant is hard to find. I am hoping someone will help me by telling me all the #''s I need, or better yet will help me to find one online.

Here is what I am looking for...

1.5-1.75 Carat
D-F
VVS2-VS1
We prefer the more rectangular shape, so a nice 1.2-1.5 would be nice.

I am not really good with the other numbers, but like everyone I want an excellent quality diamond.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry to inform you, but the Radiant is not like a round where mostly numbers will do.

Consider for a moment that this is a very unique piece of carbon that has for centuries developed into one of the most hard substances on earth underneath the ground for centuries, along with shifts in the earth's crust and major Earth changes of dinosaurs and volcanos, etc...Diamonds are mined in various places all over earth's surfaces, so understand that a diamond from even a few inches away can have totally different look, imagine what other properties can vary from stone to stone, location to location. That said, EVERY SINGLE STONE IS UNIQUE!!!!

Consider the cutting process, done my hundreds all over the world from India, Isreal, Amsterdam, Tokyo, the US, etc...some many different people with so many different visions of what a well cut diamond should be. Now imagine that only a few years ago one man decided to create a stone with an emerald top, but a brilliantized bottom like a round. Henry Grossbard patented his cut, but many others saw the beauty of this stone and altered his cut so slightly, around patents, and even just to please their own eye...

No one has ever really defined it's look, or it's parameters (with the exception of the current www.radiantcut.com, where Grossbard attempts to designate the parameters of his true radiant) This will give you some insight as to why a radiant can be square or 1.5 ratio, can have a high crown or a flat one, can range from a depth of 62% (or lower) to over 85%, tables of about the same ranges, and everything in between, not including color, clarity or carat sizes... I have seen radiants with princess pavillions, I have seen them with adapted brilliant patterns, or even a very very similar RB pattern, etc.

Gladly love to help you find that great radiant, but if it's an easy search you seek, I am afraid you have chosen a very difficult stone....Everyone comes in here looking for a great radiant, and honestly, the best thing is to do a search on the radiant here on PS, and read, as you have done. It's never fool-proof, but learning about them, their optics, and properties will help.

Reading the AGA charts, and the parameters set by Grossbard will also help. In the end the only true help is SEEING them. Again, I have seen stones by numbers and loved them, but in person they did nothing for me...So, finding the perfect radiant is as hard as deciding what specific LOOK you like (as all are different to some extent), finding the right combination of color, clarity, carat weight, price), finding someone you trust who sells them, seeing them and determining which color, clarity, size, and carat weight you like), and which stone "speaks" to you.

Technically, I can do a search and arbitrarily find you one, but who is to say that this is the stone that is "the one"? Plus, when i looked for mine, it took a daily search, and I'm talking personally going every single lunchtime and afterwork to the NYC Diamond District to see each and every store that carried them, or shipped them in for me to see...three months. Even now, I have seen some that I would love to own, and others that are a waste of diamond... either way, I suggest you go out and SEE as many as you can to get a feel for your preferred proportions for the depth, table and crown height, that you possibly bring a IdealScope (sold here and on the internet for $30-50), and bring back some stones with Sarin reports or IdealScope images for us to consider. Also, it helps having seen a few to compare them to, and all...

Good luck!!!!

Personally,
I would save the huge amount of time that you are going to waste and get an original radiant cut diamond from Henry Grossbard. It will likely be outstanding. www.Niceice.com (or one of the other fine vendors on PS) sells them so inquire at their website. They have very critical eyes and can get you one of the grossbard radiants that will likely be an outstanding performer. But that is my opinion since it really is difficult to find the ideal radiant.
