Radiant VS. Cushion Cut

I would really appreciate some advice on these two stones.
And I apologize for the lack of information.

3.59ct Radiant G SI1 $33,500.00

5.03ct Cushion J SI1 $37,500.00

The cushion cut wasn''t yellow at all, faced up white and beside the G radiant on a white piece of paper was hard to see any yellow tinge. THe cushion was very lively and radiant was very nice too. Any thoughts or opinions? Thanks in advance (Both were below 70% in depth and table)

I have to say that they have different sparkles, the Radiant like cracked glass with tiny sparkles, whereas the cushion would have chunkier sparkles like a round brilliant. It's your call.




You know, without depth or table numbers even, much less percents and angles, I could tell you NOTHING about the stones, but how much you liked both and is size a better thing? Did the Cushion speak to you? If one was to be sold to someone else, which would you absolutely hate it to be....then that's the one...that's how one jeweler helped me pick, and WOW it worked!!

They both sound lovely, so either one POST PICS if you get it!!!

I would go for the cushion! I find the cushion shape much more appealing than the shape of a radiant -- it's so much more interesting and unique (to me), especially in the huge ct. weight that you're looking at... Plus, I think a lot of people like lower colors in cushions, because it gives the stone a warmer, more antique look. If you are going for an antique look, I think the cushion would be a good choice. If you want something more contemporary, the radiant.

The two shapes are too different to give you an educated opinion. I can only go with what I like--which is the cushion. I just don't like radiants. But someone who likes radiants and doesn't like cushions would most likely give you the opposite opinion!

I am a huge fan of Radiants as I have one! However, I must say that cushion cuts are exceptional in the larger carat weight. If you have found one that faces up white even though it is a J color, then I would think the cut must be really nice. That is one huge diamond.
