Hi everyone,
I wanted to know what all you radiant experts thought of these specs:

1.92 ct
7.91 x 6.56 x 4.33
depth 66%
table 65%
girdle THIN TO EXTREMELY THICK (is that ok?)
culet none
polish VG
symm Good
color I
clarity IF (I didnt actually request that, they had it in stock)
fluor Faint

I''m a little concerned about the girdle having such a large range.
They''re asking $8700...too good to be true?

Thanks

Hi Lori,

I''ve also been in search of the perfect radiant...and I think I found it already. It is having analysis done to it by an online vendor I''m dealing with.

I would advise you to check out www.gemappraisers.com and check out the diy grading software. I ran your numbers, and it came out to a 3A, US Domestic Average Cut....let me know if you have questions...bye

Lori:

Except for the extremely thick girdle, your specs are about perfect. I wouldn''t worry too much about the girdle thickness - it''s a little sloppy, but won''t effect the appearance of the stone at all. Unfortunately, Radiants are complicated stones, and "specs" can only take you so far. You can rule out off bad specs, but one with good specs still needs to be seen. Two stones with the exact same specs can still vary greatly in appearance. That''s why fancy shapes like radiants are difiicult to buy online.

are you getting the sarin for this stone? it would be helpful to know more about the girdle
if you are color sensitive, you may want to go up in color, squares show their color more especially around the edges
you will definitly pay more for that "if" rating!!

Hey,
Thanks for getting back to me. I have another question for you. The ring that I posted specs for is an I color, IF clarity. They are asking $8700 for the stone (Diamond District, NYC). Should I be concerned b/c the price seems low for an IF? Or, is it the girdle that''s bringing down the price? They claim that anyone who wants an IF stone wouldn''t want an I color and that''s why they''re willing to sell it cheaper...
Please help...
Thanks

with a thick (especially extremely thick) girdle, you will get a stone that looks smaller than another of equal carat weight because the weight is in the girdle. that is just one reason you may want to rethink this stone........

Welcome to Pricescope Locoh,

I would have to agree with whoever said that someone looking for an IF would not usually choose an I color and that is part of the reason it is priced so low. Also, the ''extremely thick'' portion of the girdle could contribute also. Radiants are known to show off color which is why the Radiant cut is used quite a lot for fancy colored diamonds. Did you see any hint of color?

Good luck with your purchase and keep us posted!
