Hello, first time poster. I'm in the market for a fancy yellow has anyone felt with diamondsbylauren here? So far Dave has been fantastic to speak with on the phone. Planning a trip to nyc next Monday to buy a stone. Anything I should look for with the dimensions on a fancy yellow radiant?

Fancy light yellow
Even

Polish is excellent
Sym is very good
Fluorescence none

Table 71%
Total depth 69.7%

I really like the stone in pictures but figured is ask all the experts first. I can post a url if I'm allowed.

I have never bought from him but I have bought 20 FCDs from Leibish & Co.
www.fancydiamonds.net

I have been very happy with Leibish and their photographs are very accurate.
They have a huge inventory (of which 193 are yellow right now) and a great return policy.
Click on ADVANCED SEARCH on the right side of the screen then enter your specs.

FWIW, here's more info on my FCD shopping expereince:

Definitely post the link to the stone - that is allowed, and we all like to see photos of gemstones!

I am sure others will be chiming in with recommendations/opinions, but meanwhile you can do a search on PS for "Diamonds by Lauren" and also "DBL" (the acronym often used by PS-ers) - I think you will find numerous PS-ers who have purchased from DBL and have been very, very happy with the quality and service provided. You might also want to search "FLY" (acronym for Fancy Light Yellow) for related posts.

(Disclosure: I myself have not yet purchased from DBL, but have spoken on the phone with David twice over the past two years, each time finding him knowledgeable and reasonable.)

I've met with David at his office a couple of times. You'll have a blast!

If the stone lives up to your expectations when you see it, then by all means buy it! When it comes to colored diamonds, cut takes a second seat to color. Finding a happy medium is the hardest part.

Ask David to have three or four different stones in your budget and size preference in similar shapes/cuts handy as well, really get a feel for what you're looking for.

Good Luck!

ETA: just saw your link! it's really pretty! But yeah, ask him to pull out similar stones within your budget... if for nothing else but to drool!
