I''m a newbie when it comes to radiant cut (or for that matter all diamonds) but I was wondering if someone could tell me if the specs below look good. The cost was a little more than what I originally wanted to spend. Does around $19-20k sound kind of high for this rock?

Thanks.

Any info would help.

Carat weight: 2.09
Cut: Very Good
Color: G
Clarity: VVS2
Depth %: 62.7%
Table %: 74%
Symmetry: Good
Polish: Very good
Girdle: Very thin to slightly thick
Culet: None
Fluorescence: Medium blue
Measurements: 7.71x7.46x4.68 mm
Length/width ratio: 1.03

I''ve learned the hard way that radiants must be seen to be properly judged. That said, those specs are decent. I like the depth, but the table could be smaller. (Under 70) If you''re looking for a squarish radiant, it might be worth a peek. Do you have access to additional info? Sarin, BrillianceScope, IdealScope, etc?

I agree that the table may be a bit too large for the depth. Also, the very thin part of the girdle could be a concern. Gotta see it and compare to others.

Hey Golf,
I do not feel that a 74% table is neccesarily a problem on the stone you''ve listed the stats for.
But there are many other factors which will determine if the diamond is what you want.
Can you get a digital photo? This won''t eradicate the need for a money back guarantee, but it may help you a lot more than staistics.

Medium Blue is not usually any problem in terms of a G color''s appearance.
In terms of value, it detracts slightly

BTW- we are talking GIA - yes?

If it does carry a GIA report then a price of $19 means there''s something wrong with the diamond- even considering the Medium Blue.
A nice 2.09 G/VVS2 Radiant that''s actually available will set you back over 20- maybe as much as $25,000
