So, details to follow and a bit of an impulse buy but I got my hands on a very small (20 points) but lovely pink marquis diamond. Dropping her into a EW 18k low profile band (think a stack ring) to wear with my wedding band on days the ‘LOOK AT ME’ stuff is not practical.

So, high polish or sandblast finish on the gold?

I think sandblasting the setting will put more emphasis on the stone because it dulls down the metal (in a cool kind of way).
For some reason, I think if you're going yellow gold then sandblast. White gold...maybe leave bright??? Not sure which option I like for
white gold.

Thanks, everyone. I went with 18k YG, but loved the RG idea, if I wasn’t going with the YG so it matches my wedding ring, a simple band, that’s totally what I ought to have done.
