Questions about selling Lu''cere

I am probably going to sell my Lu''cere diamond to my jeweler as I am replacing it with a different diamond and I don''t want to get screwed on the price. He is going to sell it on consignment for me but he won''t just take a percentage. He wants me to name a price I want to get out of it...yada, yada...and he will basically pocket the difference which is fine. I get tired of all the doubletalk though. He tells me this stone prices as a round brilliant and based on 1.53 F SI 1 he should be able to sell it for around $13.5k. I think he will give me around $11k. Does this sound like a reasonable amount for him to make? If he buys it outright, he will pay me less but if he sells it for more than $13.5, he will just pocket the difference. Can you suggest alternatives if there are better ones?

Hi Allison-

Did you get the Lucere from this jeweler?
Are you going to get the next diamond from this same jeweler? Seems to me, if you are, then he might not be as inclined to screw you over in what he'll pay you out of the consignment deal. I hate showing my bottom line first! LOL!
Why don't you give Jonathan (GOG) a call, since he is an authorized seller of the Lucere and get what it would actually go for in Lucere terms, instead of guessing what it would go for if it were a round?
Maybe Jon can sell it on consignment for you. Uh, of course I'll feel stupid if it came from Jon in the first place
