I got my stone today. FINALLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Anyway, now come the appraisal question, should I bring the stone to an independent appraiser with idealscope. I am thinking either Accredited Gem Appraisers in PA & NewEngland Gem Lab in CT. It would be closer for me to go to NE Gem lab, but Cindy doens''t have an idealscope, she only has an Assett. The stone I got is a round briliant, does Assett scope work the same way as the idealscope for RBs, or is Assett more for Fancy cuts?

Also, the stone is not set in the ring yet, but i have bought the ring as well, when I go to get the stone apprased, should i bring my ring too? I read something here saying that many insurance companys won''t insure the diamond until it''s set in a ring. Does that mean that I need to get my ring re-appraised after it was set?

Thanks again for all your help!

Either lab will give you good service i am sure - and answer your insurance questions.
Ideal-scope and ASET both work very well on rounds.
ASET is preferable for fanciy shapes. So not an issue for you.
