Question on resizing rose gold ring

I recently purchased a rose gold ring and it needs to be resized. My jeweler says that because of the rose gold, it can be made bigger but the gold may not match 100%. Do you think that is true? Would another jeweler be able to match it perfectly, seamlessly?

Could you send it to the ring manufacture? That way they use the same alloy?

Just called Vatche and they quoted $150 plus shipping to size it 1 1/2 larger. I think I may try it with the off-coloured sizing and see if it bothers me. $150 is a bit high for me.

When someone tells me it isn't going to match, I know they'll try, but it won't match.

Question. Do you think it'll bother you? I mean. Its under your hand, the business end so to speak. Hardly ever even see it.

This is a really old thread but in case anyone reads in and thinks this is true, I wouldn’t stress it too much. Definitely ask around! I’ve had my rose gold ring resized a few times, both by original manufacturer and by other jewelers and have never been told this. It has always come back perfect.
