Hi Mela Lu!

Don''t know if you remember but we were "chatting" a few months ago about your w-band. I have a few more questions if you don''t mind????

I really, really, really want a 3-sided pave w-band (really!) but my fiance and jeweler are strongly suggesting otherwise. However my fiance told me lastnight that if that''s what I really want then we can go talk to the jeweler. Sooooooo, I have to take advantage of his "giving" mood.

Have you had any problems with rubbing or lost stones?
Any problems at all?
What''s the carat weight of your w-band?
It appears to be more "dome-shaped" than square. Is it?

Thank you so so much!!

Hya Bams! I remember WELL our convo''s from a few months past

and I''ll do my best to divulge all the info.
Ironically, I did just lose one stone (I joked that my wedding band got a cavity) but my jeweler will be replacing it for me. I''ve also lost one melee in my engagement ring (purchased from a different jeweler) and have had that replaced. It''s the nature of pave and to be taken with a grain of salt. It''s worth it to me to have the beauty of the sparkle.

In terms of rubbing - which I''m pretty sure is most people''s concern - I''ve noticed some minimal wearing down of the underside of the halo. I''ve been wearing these two rings together since August, so that''s 7ish months. This could have been avoided if my halo was a *titch* taller, but now I dont think that the underside of the halo will wear down anymore. time will tell.

For me, all these minor things are worth it. I get tons of compliments on my set (not a true set) and my w-band is outstanding as a stand-alone ring. The sparkle from the 3 sides is unparalleled.

It is in fact, dome shaped, and there are a total of 49 stones. 16 on the outer rows, and 17 on the inner row. I''m not sure the total carat weight...I never asked! haha.
I do know that the melee are .07 (inner row) and .06 (outer row) - if that helps.

Everyone has to weigh out their own preference & their realities. I personally, dont'' mind the ''bit'' of maintanance that goes along with the Pave (to me it''s worth it) but I could see how someone wouldn''t want to bother.

What else can I share with you?

Hey Mela Lu!!!

Thanks for responding. Cavity!!?? I LOVE IT! Your "set" is absolutely beautiful and every time I look at your w-band I drool (well not really, but you get my point!). I just hope my jeweler doesn''t persuade me otherwise. He''s a crotchety old man and intimidates me!! I''ve lost a few melee from my e-ring but I put it in an ultrasonic and I''m certain that''s why. My jeweler replaced them and gave the band a once over and it hasn''t happened since. I, like you, love the look of pave so yes, it''s worth it. I just don''t want to hear "told you so" if there''s excessive rubbing and I lose a lot of stones.

I just checked my cert and my e-ring has 93 melee, equaling 1 carat. So that''s 1.07 points each right?

Thanks again for your help.......much appreciated!!
