I am thinking of getting this ring, ( I am new) I havent seen it in person, I am curious because I was sent several photos, most of them the stone looks pretty white, but in this one, which looks like it was taken outside in natural light, looks blue and brown to me? It is graded as k color... wondering if the blue/brown i am seeing is a sign of bad coloring, (i have read that k is a 'slight yellow' but thats not what i see here) or it will just change depending on the lighting, or if anyone has seen a stone with this coloring? thanks!

Where is this ring being listed for sale? Is it graded by a legit lab? Who gave it that color grade?

Its not listed, it's through a friend of a friend that no longer has, um, need for it... we dont live in the same state which is why i cant see it myself before hand, it has an egl cert that he has with it.

What EGL? Post the report.

That picture is pretty useless - we can't tell you anything about the faceting, the proportions, the finish of the setting, or the colour of the stone (white balance is clearly off).

I would STRONGLY recommend having the ring shipped out to you/a local appraiser to look at before you buy it. Or at least arrange for a for-full-refund return policy and get it in writing before you pay.

Ok, will see if I can get more photos, and the paperwork wasnt photographed, he just sent me what it said. Yea I came on here because I was nervous about the whole thing, maybe i will just skip it if he wont take it back....

Oh, and all i know is he said egl...nothing more specific.

It could be reflecting the sky (the blue part) but that picture is pretty worthless.

You can enter the numbers into the HCA and it will give you some clue about the
stone. We usually look for a score of under 2.

https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca (be sure to change the angle to % for the crown and pavilion).

inside photo looks like this, which probably doesnt help either, but i see a big difference
