Hello! I am hoping someone here can answer my question about this...We just purchased a shared prong wedding band to go with my 3 sided pave engagement ring. They do not sit flush but my rings do move around a little so I am concerned with the girdle of the diamonds on the band scratching the tiny diamonds on the side of my engagement ring, or vice versa. I have some pictures but unfortunately cannot get close enough to show the rubbing without making the pics blurry. I may just be paranoid but I don''t want to risk damaging either ring! Thanks for your help!

The area they are rubbing together is right on the side of the bezel set side stones...

No, your instincts are right. You should never wear a 3 sided pave ring with another ring AT ALL, much less one with diamonds.

The diamonds might wear away at each other over time, and the little diamonds will also wear away the platinum making the ring less secure over time.

Thank you for your reply! So basically I will need to get a new setting or not wear a wedding band? I had picked this setting out in the beginning because I did not intend to wear a band but I have since changed my mind but I wasn''t aware that it would be an issue to wear one until I really looked at the band I have now next to it...This is a bummer! I really love the band and the setting

If you NEED to wear a band unfortunately I think you need a plain one with your current setting. I do think it''s best not to wear one at all, but if you wear one without diamonds you will probably only ruin the plain band which isn''t such a big loss.

You could also wear one on each hand! Double the bling!

That''s not a bad idea! I wouldn''t mind having diamonds on both hands

If you''ve noticed this is what a lot of women who have ornate or big rings usually do. Not uncommon at all!
