Question about Flourescence & Virtual Inventory

I found a diamond that could be "the one".... it rates .5 on HCA, so that seems okay.

it is an "H" and I've never wanted to go below a "G" - and it has "strong blue" flourescence - is this okay? Does the strong blue help the whiteness? Will it visually look closer to a "G" because of that? I stayed away from flour before I found this site because I didn't understand it, but it seems like it could be an advantage with lower color grades - is that correct?

Another question I have - how do you tell if a diamond is in the company's inventory or if it is virtual? I could not get this unless I went through my B&M jeweler as I would have to trade in my current stone. I assume if it is virtual, then my jeweler could get it for me as well and I could do a deal. But how do you tell? (I found it at Union Diamond - if that helps).

Thanks for any help!

I would trust Brian Gavin's inventory of blue fluro stones because he has evaluated them and confirms that the fluro does not have a negative effect on the stone. You can also tell which of his stones are in-house (also WhiteFlash, Good Old Gold). I don't know about Union Diamond but I expect they have more virtual stones than in-house. If you decide to go with a virtual stone, it is imperative that the stone be called in and examined before you make a decision as to cut and appearance of the fluorescence.

Ask the jeweler, you probably need to supply the report number and carat weight. If he has access to it, he can bring it in.
