I have never bought a diamond before and I am trying to figure out what a nicely cut diamond consists of statistically.
A jeweler has one with this report and quoted $4500:
round brilliant
measurement: 6.11-6.15 x 4.01 mm
1.01 c
SI1, E
depth: 65.4%
table: 60%
girdle: med to very thick, faceted
culet: none
Polish: good
Symmetry: good
Fluorescence: none

Similar diamonds i''ve seen online have larger measurements and smaller depth. Does that mean that those are better?
Is the polish and symmetry the most important part of the "cut"?

Thank you very much in advance for your information!

Well... the tutorial above may help.

But, let's say that size and brilliance are the two things you may want to look for. Size is easy (just compare diameters), brilliance depends on cut and it is not easy to judge without allot more info (see tutorial).

The stone is not a fine cut by any standards I know of but surely is pricey!

Just as an axample, here (LINK) is a 0.9cts E-SI1, slightly larger than yours, definitely less expensive and top cut by most standards I know of.

Hope this helps

If that diamond were well cut, it would have a diameter of around 6.5 mm.
