Ok so I put a hold on a diamond at white flash.

Diamond thats held

According to them it is eye clean at 8 and 25mm. They did point out though that the inclusion can bee seen at a profile view. Should I stick with this one or look for something smaller at a higher quality. Anyone with white flash experience let me know.

Also how are the dimensions on this looking?

Thanks

Hi eddie,

It''s really about what the intended wearer will think. Will it bother them?

It would bother me, but I tend to be rather picky.

WF is great to work with, and very honest. So no worries there.

Ditto. Another picky one here, but you''re in great hands with WF!!

Id buy it, inclusions visible from the side dont bug me at all.
If its visible at 45 degrees tilt then it might be an issue but if its only full side view then id snag it.
dimensions are fine.
I would buy it as long as its just visible on the full side view.

Inclusions don't bother me at all! I would buy that in a heartbeat! I can never see anything without a loupe anyway (43 yr old eyes

do you have any idea what type of setting you arelooking at? probably something classic with prongs that will keep the diamond pretty high up and exposed on the sides?

Then there is also th matter of exactly how visible the inclusions are and if they are reflecting a number of times.

For an Ering, I would def pass though, but thats me being picky. Are you the guy who wrote earlier about his ff being particularly picky? If so, I say pass if its not goign to be a bezel set or something like that. Its a pretty sizable diamond, and I imagine that the profile view could be pretty handsome when driving etc, and is not something I think should be ignored.

Here is the setting that I chose:

I think I better definitely have a look myself. It will cost me 75$ or so to do it but I guess its worth it. The diamond that you listed here: http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-395289.htm

I had them check and they said this one is not eye clean. The other one around my price range shown here: http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-232077.htm# was also said to be not eye clean. Although that ones picture looks pretty good.

There arent any more aca really in my range and size. There are dozens though that are not in stock which show exc. exc. ideal cut in vs2 that I could afford around 1.5ct. So there are other options.

Here are a couple that I saw.

Another problem is im having wf set my stone. So I would have to get the diamond sent to me. Approve of it. Then pay to send it back and probably pay them again to get it back. ;0

I think you already bought the diamond, but is the Idealscope picture tilted? The culet is not in the center of the circle. I''m guessing this is an artifact of the way the picture was taken.

The thing is...in that setting...the profile will be visible from all sides of the ring (it looks to be a pretty high setting)! It's not covered up, say, in a bezel setting or something. It would bother me to be able to see the inclusions in the profile. I'd definitely find out if it would bother her. Some people don't mind...but a good portion do. Could it be set so that the inclusion was hidden by one of the prongs? I'd ask.

Hey everyone.

I just came back from the jewelry store with her and she was noticing inclusions from the side! I was being casual about it looking at other jewelry then she glided over to the diamond section. The diamonds were not that good quality but she was looking it up and down. So I think im going to cancel this order and choose another at a higher quality. I would rather get a vs2 or good si1 to make sure she is happy.

Also after looking at a 1.8ct stone. I think that is too big for her small finger. Dont want to spoil her that bad yet :).

Frank - Sounds like a good plan to me. That SI2 was not meant for her.

I have a 1.5 ct F VS2 and I look at the stone from the side all the time. I am so happy I can't see any color or inclusions.

Happy shopping, and come back with more questions. People here just LOVE to talk diamonds.
