HI once again PS forumites!

You have helped me get a stunning e-ring, wedding ring and eternity ring. And also some other bits a pieces along the way!
Next up is a "push present" for my wife for she did a fine job delivering our baby!

I was thinking of a cartier trinity ring. The '3' rings can signify alot of different things for us. Any thoughts? Other suggestions?

I live in Australia, and as usual we get smashed by prices, we aren't travelling any time soon, so i'm thinking about either buying a cartier or similar designed ring online or perhaps purchasing from the actual cartier store although it will be a rip off.

Any tips or suggestions? i'm thinking white, yellow and rose gold. perhaps thinner for my wifes finger rather than wide band. Anyone know a great site to buy from? also i think size will be 4.75 but i may need to have the option to exchange if wrong size.

Like everyone here i love diamonds, but may pass on the little pointers set in the ring as they are so small.

Also, after i sort this out ill need to get my baby girl her first jewellry aswell!

cheers
nek

sounds like a great idea. Not sure about where to purchase. Have u tried eBay?

Congratulations on your baby girl!!! :appl:

I'd buy that particular item new from Cartier. I wouldn't buy second hand for a gift since the gold would be likely scratched to some degree. You really have to be careful about size, and I think they have sizing information somewhere on their site.

Classic model is $1450 http://www.cartier.us/#/show-me/jewelry/b4052700-trinity-ring-classic-model

slightly thinner model $1000 (although it does not give widths) http://www.cartier.us/#/show-me/jewelry/b4086100-trinity-ring

add a few diamonds http://www.cartier.us/#/show-me/jewelry/b4038800-trinity-ring

The slightly thinner model is 2.9mm each band. The classic one is 4mm each band. I have the ultra-slim one, which I don't think they offer anymore. It is very thin- almost too thin, in my opinion. It doesn't show off the different colors well on me, but that could be b/c yellow and rose gold blend more with my skin. I do love the ring though and I'm sure your wife would too!

I was in Italy last month and tried on several of the cartier trinity rings while we were buying my bracelet. The man was very nice and let me try on several different versions of it including the pave style which was my favorite. I will say be careful with sizing. I tried on a 6.5. The thin version was a little too big while the normal/widder version was actaully too tight. I would buy direct from cartier to see what their return policey is. I don't believe Cartier sells through 3rd parties except the super high end stores like Harrods maybe?

Personally, for a ring like this, it's worth the name. It is one of the things I think they do the very best of.

I just wish they made it in plat...

I've tried on a Cartier trinity and I love, love, loved it! I'd say go for it, and get it new from Cartier if at all possible. BTW for me, the sizing was true to what I normally wear (I was trying on the style with the "thinner" individual bands).

Thanks guys,
Yes i think i will need to get it from the official cartier store (only 1 here in sydney as far as i'm aware). I think i will go for the wider ring as i've read elsewhere that the slimmer one can show too much 'skin clevage' between the rings?
I'm a bit annoyed i'm not travelling at the moment for a quick o/s trip as these sort of items are much cheaper internationally. This has been one of the main reasons i tend to put money towards the actually diamond or gold quality rather than buying a name brand like tiffany
s in which their is a huge price mark up.
Any thoughts on other types of jewellry as a gift? I've thought perhaps getting a pair of 5 in line diamond huggies to match the in line 5 stone eternity band instead.
Also, i've never bought from cartier, but do they ever tend to have sales or give discounts etc?!?!?!

Does it have to be ring/trinity? Have you seen cartier's entrelaces collection? It is beautiful design available in gold, rose and white gold. The 2 pieces of sticks that intertwines can symbolize you and your wife's unification, and the link of the bracelet/necklace can symbolize your girl who now expands the family and forever keeps the three of you together.

Nope Cartier does not have sales or give discounts. And with Cartier well the quality is nice trust me you are paying a huge mark up for only the name. When I was there last month DH bought me the LOVE bracelet and the manager was nice enough to bring out a bottle of Champagne since it was for my birthday. So they do little perks like that, but don't expect money off.

If you want to get a trinity ring but don't care for the cartier name I would contact Diamonds By Laurne. hey have a diamond rolling trinity that I love! I would also check out ID Jewelry, Whiteflash and Brian Gavin Diamonds. Any of them could help you with huggies, trinity rings etc. They would be just as nice as cartier.
