purple spinel, worth it?

Hi, I purchased this spinel from a great seller, seems the stone looks better in person honestly. Has no grey whatsoever, really looks like a good quality sapphire. Seems to have s great but, GIA report, is this worth $1500?

actual photos in my family room natural light. The seller pics are identical to what I see in real life, second stone I got from them, sent the other one back b/c of inclusions that were not in the listing, however, the color was the same as well.

Looks pretty! Issue is, I think, can be mistaken for amethyst -- but will be much more durable in a ring. I think potential for amethyst-confusion can affect pricing of some purple gems.

Thats interesting, I never thought about that. I have a few purple stones and never thought the value would be lower because of that. Is this the color of amethyst?

Yes, I was thinking that to be true from browsing through forums here. I was just worried that the $1500 price tag may be a bit much.

Yes, I gave the link to JG, then posted the pics in my family room. They look almost identical from my eyes, do you see a difference?

When I’ve bought from them, typically the stones are no longer available pretty much immediately.
I was thinking you linked the one you retuned.
No issue.
I think it looks very pretty.
Not educated enough to comment on price tho.

I thought that was interesting as well. I did purchase through ebay vs the site though. Thank you for your feedback.
